Stranden op Curaçao

Curaçao's beaches are largely scattered along the sheltered and quiet coast of the southwest of the island. The calm waters are crystal clear in these spots. On some beaches a small commission is asked, sometimes you get a beach chair with it.

Although it is not the custom, and not allowed on all beaches, you can encounter topless sunbathing guests. It is prohibited by law, but is tolerated in some places.

Cas Abao offers you a white sandy beach, crystal clear water, swaying palms and many summer houses for the necessary shade. The beach combines a natural, rural setting with all the comforts of a full service beach. Cas Abao is ideally suited to swimmers of all ages and is a paradise for snorkelers and scuba divers. A raft for sunbathing or playing with is moored on the beach. There is a bar, restaurant, showers and massage facilities.
Cas Abao is dagelijks geopend van 8.00 tot 18.00 uur.

Kokomo beach is located on Vaersenbaai, a beautiful natural bay on the way to Bullenbaai, popular with stylish surfers. Kokomo opened in June 2011 and quickly became known for its big beach parties, such as Woodstock, the monthly Full Moon Parties, Summerlove, Doomsday and the Amnesia beach festival.

Kokomo is the ideal beach to enjoy a quiet day with the whole family, have a great lunch, try one of our delicious cocktails or fall in love with the crystal clear waters! We have lounges to relax, read a book or hang out with an ice cold beer! Kokomo has no entrance fees and we probably have the best beach chairs on the island!

Playa Porto Mari is a beautiful sandy beach on the private domain of the 'Porto Mari' plantation on the west coast. Its white, sandy coral beach, with clear and calm waters, is a true paradise for water enthusiasts and the unique 'double reef' is easily accessible from the coast. It offers fascinating snorkelling and diving opportunities. There is a company that provides diving facilities on the beach. For landlubbers, there are two nature trails, both of which start from the parking lot. All activities at Playa Porto Mari are conducted in an environmentally friendly manner. For example, the water is recycled and used for the toilets and for irrigation purposes and the stand promenade is made from discarded pallets or 'Trex', a recycled product. Our publications are also printed on 100% recycled paper.Playa Porto Mari is open every day. The bar and restaurant offer visitors a variety of tropical meals and drinks.

Open daily from 9:30 until 18:30 (closed on 31 December and Carnival sunday)

Mambo Beach This beach, right next to the seaquarium, has all the facilities, palm trees and beautiful white sand.

During the day it is the perfect place for children to play in the shallow water. There are many nice shops and various bars such as Bonita, Cabana, Wet & Wild and Madero. The lion's dive hotel is also located right next to this beach. The beach is popular with families and young people. In the evenings into the night it can become a very busy hotspot, especially on weekends. This beach often hosts performances by great artists.

Caracasbaai The beach here is formed by coarse sand and pebbles and is popular with snorkelers and divers as it is part of the underwater park. The inhabitants of the island also like to come here. There are several small restaurants, the water is usually calm and there is no entrance fee.

Daaibooi Baai A small cove near the town, which is great for snorkelling along the rocky ledges and fishing basin. Pergolas provide excellent shade here and there is also a snack bar that is open during the week and at weekends. On the west side of the bay, a narrow path leads you into the rural area.

Jan Thiel Beach has excellent snorkeling and diving opportunities. (duikschool diving school available). It has an "old part" where a stretch of beach connects to the sea, and a new part where there is sprayed sand and a seawater-filled pool. There are several shops, restaurants and bars. In the evening you can have a nice dinner or go out. Often local bands play on the beach.

Klein Curacao Curaçao's longest and whitest beach is located on Klein Curaçao, an uninhabited end southeast of Curaçao, located 13 kilometers off the coast. Dive companies and charter boats take people to this oversized volcanic rock for beach parties, picnics and a fantastic swim in the ocean. The coast is covered with soft, white sand and the water is crystal clear, but there is little shade. The northeast side usually has calm waters and calm waves. If you want to go there, check with the diving organizations or sailing charter companies if there are trips that include diving, snorkeling, refreshments, a picnic or a barbecue lunch.

Grote Knip islocated all the way on the west side of Curaçao and is still very authentic. Don't expect large beach bars or luxury beds here, but rocks and lots of sand. On weekends, many locals travel to this beach with their car or motorcycle, fully loaded with cool boxes full of food and drinks. If you walk to the beach from the parking lot, you have a fantastic view!

Striking about the beach is the very wide strip of bright blue water and the possibility to dive from cliffs into the sea here. This is therefore a popular activity among local young people.

Those who are experienced swimmers can swim up to the reef, but don't underestimate this, as it is quite a distance from the beach. You can snorkel well at the rocks and you will see a lot of beautiful fish there.

Playa Lagun Between two cliffs lies the beautiful beach of Lagun. This quiet beach slopes gently into a green-blue clear sea. Besides a beautiful atmosphere, it is also a very nice place for snorkeling. The rocks on both sides provide a good hiding place for fish and sea turtles. At Playa Lagun you can still see authentic fishermen doing their work, both on the water and on the beach, where they clean and sell the fish. You can legally barbecue here! Playa Lagun is also very popular with the locals. If you are taking a tour of Curaçao, you should stop for a drink and possibly a snack at the bar on the western cliff just for the view.

Sint Michelsbaai In the old fishing village of Boca Sami you will find this beautiful snorkeling and diving location. At St Michels Bay the atmosphere is relaxed. You mainly see villagers who take a dip for a refreshing cooling or fishermen who are busy with the catch of the day. For an unforgettable diving experience you will have to visit diving school Wederfoort. At the same location there are facilities such as bar/restaurant, toilets and showers.
